How to Enjoy The Freedom You've Worked So Hard to Create

If you're anything like me, you've dreamt about the day when you could set your own hours, feel the midday sun on your face, and work from anywhere.

Now that you've achieved that dream, my question for you is, are you taking full advantage of it? 

Or, do you tell yourself you'll do these kind of things once you have more time, more money, etc?

We are at an unprecedented moment in history where more people than ever are experiencing new levels of time and location freedom. But often, our minds lag behind our circumstances.

We tend to stick with our comfortable patterns, even when a new, more optimal choice is available to us.

How many times have you caught yourself sticking to a rigid 9-5 schedule out of habit, even though you can work whenever you want? Or filled your time with tasks that seem productive, but aren't really necessary?

Just this morning, I found myself sitting at my desk ready to work, even though my schedule was clear and I'd planned on spending the morning at our neighborhood pool. The thought of being at the pool at 9am on a Wednesday felt almost...wrong.

But then I reminded myself: this freedom, this lifestyle, this business, I created it all with intention. I created it so I could enjoy moments just like this.

This is the fun part!

It's available to me right now, and I am the only one getting in the way of enjoying it to the fullest.

So, I did just that, and guess what? The time away from my desk recharged me, and I brought the best energy to my afternoon calls. 

Sometimes, the best thing you can do for yourself is to take a step back from work and relax.

Let this be your reminder (and your permission slip) to truly enjoy the freedom and flexibility that you've worked so hard to attain.

Plan your downtime.

Plan your work time.

Follow through on both.

Reassure yourself, as needed, that it's okay to have fun and take advantage of any freedom and flexibility in your schedule.

And then go enjoy your life! Otherwise, what is this all for at the end of the day?
