Today I'm sharing a real, behind-the-scenes peek at the unexpected journey I've taken bringing this project to life.
After I announced my upcoming podcast in early July, I found out I was pregnant with our first baby a few weeks later!
The first trimester nausea and fatigue slowed my roll, and I soon realized that my initial launch date was no longer realistic without some serious powering through.
If there's one thing I've learned over the years, it's the importance of listening to your body and not forcing yourself to rush things or meet arbitrary timelines when your health takes center stage.
At the end of the day, we only get one body in this lifetime. And if we don't take care of it, eventually our body will force us to slow down...whether we want to or not!
Even though I was really excited to get my podcast out into the world, I knew the importance of not overextending myself.
I remembered that any deadlines I create in my business are self-imposed.
That I'm playing the long-game.
That any rush is self-created.
And that any pressure can be dissolved when I refocus on what matters most to me (which, it turns out, is not proving myself or creating more, faster).
What I really care about at the end of the day is doing work that I love in a way that I love. Because otherwise, what's the point? Life's too short for unnecessary stress.
Basically, I found myself with yet another opportunity to practice what I preach, and make this podcast a labor of love versus a project filled with pressure and overwhelm.
Did I plan to launch the podcast earlier? Yes.
Am I so glad I listened to my body, released that unnecessary stress, and worked with (vs. against) my energy to create something I'm ultimately super proud of — without burning myself out in the process? Yes, yes, 1000x yes!
Following my first-trimester break, I've been immersed behind the scenes: recording, editing, and preparing this project to soar...and drumroll, please:
We'll be live NEXT WEEK!!!
Mark your calendar for Tuesday 12/12, when you can officially listen to the very first episode on your favorite streaming platform 🎉
Can't wait to share more of this journey with you,
Megan
