In the last half of 2021, I watched my husband Will start his career coaching practice, and more than double his former Amazon salary in a matter of months.
As his business grew, there was one quality in particular that stood out to me...
An approach that every successful business owner I know has in common: a genuine willingness to try things, “fail," and not make it mean anything about themselves.
This isn’t a skill that you’re born with (or without).
This is a perspective shift you can make, no matter how you currently feel about failure.
I say this as someone who's been both terrified of failing, and as someone who's experienced the absolute freedom of seeing it as part of the game.
If you're ready to embrace this mindset for yourself, start by viewing every single thing that happens (even if it stings in the moment) as giving you more clarity for next steps — and therefore helping you create more momentum overall.
When you look at your business through this lens, each step you take becomes less precious.
You give yourself permission to play, test, and experiment.
You take your inner perfectionist out of the driver's seat.
And you sidestep the mental and emotional exhaustion of trying to get things right.
So the next time you feel nervous to try something new, remember:
Experiencing failure is not only normal, but key to long-term happiness and success.
To failing forward,
Megan
P.S. If you’re ready for your business to feel like a fun, expansive game where you make big moves and live up to your potential without burning out along the way, you belong in my upcoming mastermind.
