How To Maximize Your Energy

One of the easiest ways to maximize your energy is to start thinking of your daily supply in terms of Energy Units.

This is a concept I developed to help my clients stop burning out and start experiencing energy overflow.

Here's how it works:

Let's say you wake up with 100 energy units each day.

You'd start to think about how you want to allocate and invest those units into different parts of your life.

How are you divvying up your time and attention to spend your energy?

And does that breakdown align with your values (aka what matters most to you)?

Simply thinking about this conceptually can be enough to help you re-prioritize and restructure your days.

But there's another layer to all of this: some activities actually give you energy units back.

So even though you're spending time/energy doing them, you still come out on the other side with just as much if not more energy.

You end up with an energy surplus.

Some examples of energy-giving activities might include:

  • Catching up with a close friend

  • Working out

  • Cooking a nourishing meal

  • Meditating

  • Going on a walk

  • Playing with your kids or dog

  • Getting coached or self-coaching

  • Leaning into your zone of genius and working in a way that lights you up

Conversely, other activities drain you more than you realize, creating an energy deficit. These tend to feel okay in the moment, but ultimately leave you feeling worse.

Some examples of energy-draining activities might include:

  • Complaining

  • Mindless scrolling

  • Watching TV shows you're not actually that interested in

  • Spending time with people whose company you don't enjoy

  • Eating processed or sugary foods

  • Overthinking and over-tweaking things in your business

  • Forcing a business strategy that feels totally unaligned

The truth is, only you know what ultimately takes or gives you energy.

And only you know what truly matters most to you — and therefore deserves your time and attention.

My hope is that this email got those wheels turning.

As your coach, one of my core goals is to help you experience days that are as intentional as possible.

Because intentional days ultimately add up to a meaningful, joyful, and well-lived life.

You deserve that,

Megan
